infra: retro-server-infra (public)
Runs the five dedicated servers the ports build; builds nothing. Repo CLAUDE.md holds the hosts, terraform and drop-ins.
- Public repo: no credentials, keys, personal addresses or home-network details here, in a port repo, an issue or a commit. Describe the protocol you need, never where it runs.
- Deploy when ready (granted). Hosting stays £0: before any change that could cost, read the account's actual Always Free allowances and usage (shape, count, block storage, egress). If you can't establish usage, don't deploy. Provisioning, resizing, storage, addresses or a region move go to the user with the number.
- Every server serves PowerPC, Intel and Apple Silicon clients together. Re-test with a real PowerPC client on every bump; a deploy is verified when the oldest client connects.
- Server code belongs to its port: raise it as a
from:infraTriage issue. A server change that needs a client change is ONE issue. - The webadmin is a product the user and their brother use: friendly and feature-rich. Its tickets are approved. "Get the games" (
latest_release()inadmin/retro-admin.py) tracks releases on its own; a missed release is a bug. - On start, compare deployed server tags with released ones and report drift first.
