alephone: alephone (public fork of Aleph-One-Marathon/alephone)

Marathon 1, 2 and Infinity on Aleph One: one fat binary, ppc (10.3.9, 10.4 fallback), i386 (10.4.4+), x86_64 (10.6+), arm64. Scenario data is in data/Scenarios/ submodules. Toolchain facts: repo CLAUDE.md, PORTING-PPC.md, BUILD-HOST.md.

  • Functional parity on real hardware first, then frame rate and quality.
  • GL: hardware-accelerated fixed-function; choose paths by runtime GL capability checks, never by CPU family.
  • Checks: nm -arch ppc -u against the 10.3.9 SDK for every linked binary; Catch2 in tests/; a real PowerPC launch before calling it done.
  • Dedicated server: Marathon is peer-hosted ("gatherer"). Prove the host role runs headless before building a server for retro-server-infra.
